So, to start off this post I must tell you my past experiences with cars. I am 21 and this will be my 4th car! My first car was a Ford Ranger, what a cute truck it was and I really like it! It was a little sketchy in the snow because its so light but other then that it was my favorite! Well once I moved to Washington, after my first year in college, something with the humidity made the engine weird and it would shake really bad when I was at a light or something. It was the worst! So I sold it, and honestly I probably shouldn't have but I just felt like it was the best thing to do.
Well then I bought my VW Beetle and it was the cutest little car and it had leather seats and a sunroof and it was just so cute for a college girl to get around, and it got SO much better gas mileage then my previous car. Well, Grant and I had just started dating and Taely came down to Utah to visit me so we all decided to go to a friends wedding reception in Salt Lake, I was currently living in Layton. Well we get to Bountiful and my "engine is over heating" light came on. I literally started to freak out! So I pulled over to the nearest gas station and called my dad in a complete panic! Of course he had no idea what to do either! Well I found the closest Nappa store and it's pouring rain outside and the guy told me that my engine cooler fluid was low and I just needed to fill it up. So I bought more fluid and filled it up and I was on my way, well for 1 mile that is then my light came on again! So once again im in a panic thinking that he was wrong, so I called the store and he told me that my sensor is broken and not to worry. Well of course I continue to worry because I HATE car problems! Long story short I ended up driving it to the South Town Mall, to Grandma and Grandpa Lyons, then to Herriman for the reception. Well needless to say I was terrified to drive my car by this point because the light is still on so I made Tealy and of course Grant just wanted to make out with me in the back seat. ;) Well we get to Sandy and we look behind us and its PURE SMOKE! We pull off the freeway and call Grandpa Jo to come help us and bring a car because I needed to work a grave yard shift in 2 hours or they said I would lose my job.... so unsympathetic! Well once the mechanic took a look at it I completely blew my engine and my parents had to buy me a new engine and it went down hill from there. Just wasn't the same! We also had other weird problems with it so before Grant and I got married we decided to buy a Honda Accord.
Well I decided that I wanted to invest in a Honda because everyone I know has said how much they love them. Well that lasted two years and in that two years, I bought a new bumper, my motor on my window went out, my power steering went out, my catalytic converter went on, and my brake light and airbag light were constantly on and wouldn't go off. Well needless to say I only fixed about half of those until I decided that I needed a new car because I was already upside down in it not including the $2,000 repairs it still needed! Oh joy right! Well today we decided that we were sick of pouring so much money into my car that we should just get a new one.
So today we bought a 2013 LX CRV!! And I am completely in love! We took it for a test drive and I knew that I wanted it! We had also looked at Nissan Rogues but decided if we could get a good enough deal on a Honda then we wanted to give Honda another try and get a CRV. Well after going back and forth and appraising our car we were $2,300 in the whole on my current car... ugh! Well in the end we ended up getting a good enough deal that we would not be paying too much more for this new car then we were paying for our 2 cars that we had (we just payed Grants off, good timing). We really feel so blessed that we were able to get this car and have our jobs to help us pay for it a provide us with a safe way of travel. This will probably be my car for at least the next 10 years :) And who knows... maybe some day there will be babies in it :)

What we're up to!
Just a quick post, it's spring break so Grant and I have had a little bit of time to just relax and take a break. We both and still working so much and doing school so much! I can't wait to be done in April! Yahoo!!! Grant tried to get an internship with the Salt Lake Bee's but unfortunately he works so much that it didn't work out. I hate that work has to get in the way with what he wants to do! I know that God has a plan for us though so we will just continue to do what we can to get done with school. Grant and I are both so excited for Taely and Eric to have a baby!! I am so excited to be an Aunt! Other then working and school Grant and I haven't done too much but we want to take a trip soon, maybe right after Graduation. :)

Busy Busy Busy
Life has been so hectic at the Burton house. Since Grant and I both work and go to school full time, quality time is sometimes hard to find. Grant and I are getting excited to head to Washington to see my family soon for Thanksgiving and we can't wait. I hate having my family live so far away!
Grant and I spent the weekend having fun. We had to make a trip to Orem for my friends wedding reception so we made a day out of it. We stopped by City Creek and did some fun shopping and even stopped for some Cheesecake, my fav!! Then we headed to my Grandma Lyons to visit them and hang out for a few hours. We the headed to the cutest wedding reception ever. My friend from High School got married and they had the cutest reception with dancing and a photobooth. We the ended the weekend with dinner with Grants family.

Update
Life has been the most crazy lately! Grant and I are both working and going to school full time and its rough, but we both want to get done with school as soon as we can. Recently we've just been concentrating on our classes and have little time for fun. We did get to go to the circus which was an absolute blast! We had such a fun time. I'd never been to a circus before and it was so neat the things that people can do! It was so great.
We also have plans to go to Washington, to see my family, for Thanksgiving, and we can't wait. We love going up there. We also got to see my family a few months ago and had fun going to lagoon and spending time with them.

The diet is going great. I've had such a fun time learning to substitute foods for others less carby and sugary and its made cooking fun and experimental, not sure if my husband likes that :). I'm hoping to continue to work hard at the gym and eating clean.

New Me :)
Recently, well about 5 months ago, I had decided to change my life. I decided that I was tired of being overweight. I never knew what to eat and I was always unhappy with myself. I met a friend at my work, Amy, who gave me the motivation to want to change. She came to the gym with me a few times and started giving me tips on how to change my life. I thought, you make it sound easy, and I still wasn't convinced I could do it but I decided I would try it. I started to limit my carbs and sugar and really paid attention to my serving sizes and went to the gym at least 3 times a week. I was so amazed at how fast the weight was coming off. I lost 7 pounds in 2 weeks just from those small changes!! I continue to lose a pound to 2 pounds a week. I started to lift weights and always chose the healthier choices when eating. Can I just say that this has been one of the hardest things I've done. There were times during the first month that I was ready to give up. The thing that kept me going was I felt so much better about myself, even if I didn't lose any weight I know that I was eating healthier and exercising an that made me happy. As time progressed I started to experience with weight lifting and really made sure I did my cardio. I started experimenting with my cooking, my poor husband, and tried to find ways to eat healthier. It now has been 5 months and I have lost 30 pounds! Can you believe that?! I can't! I didn't realize how out of control I'd let my weight get. I knew I was heavier but I never realized how heavy. I have been sticking to a low carb low sugar diet (it's too hard to totally eliminate them) :) and it's really been working for me. I attend the gym at least 4 times a week and I try to lift weights, on my lazy weeks, at least twice a week. The thing that has been so near and dear to me is I truly thought that I could never do this, I still have a long ways to go but I can't believe the progress I have made. Today at the gym a gentlemen, who I've never talked to before but have seen at the gym before, came up and told me how great I was looking. I didn't even know a total stranger could notice the changes. I only post this to share with people that you truly can do it. Fad diets are not the way. If you maintain a healthy diet and exercise regularly... You can do it. I am ashamed and also very happy with this picture. It's my before and after this this point. :)

Playing Catch Up
Life has been so crazy for Grant and I lately so be prepared to read a lot. :) I can't believe I haven't been on here since Easter!! So much has happened since then. I got a promotion at work so I still work at Davis Hospital but I do their Quality Assurance. Grant is still working on Hill Air Force Base and we both are doing school full time! I am excited to be graduating in the spring and for Grant hopefully in the fall! I can’t believe how close the end is getting!! So excited.
Since I have posted last a lot has happened so I’ll try to just recap the big ones. Grant’s younger brother, Steve, came home from his mission so I got to meet him for the very first time since I have known Grant! What an awesome kid Steve is and it was great to meet him and have him home.
The next big thing that has happened is Taely got married!! What an exciting event and I was so happy to be able to fly up there and spend the day with her on her special day. I flew up on Sunday and Grant flew up on Tuesday. We had people sleeping on the floor because there was so many family members, it was chaos but it was oh so fun!!
Bride and Groom tying the knot!!Cute Mommy and I!!
Huzbie and I going to Seattle with the family before we flew home!
Cousins! All crammed in the car!
I also have been trying to lose some weight! Down 16 pounds!! Sounds drastic right? Still lots to go! I attend the gym regularly and I feel so much better about myself and I fell like I am more happy when I go to the gym. LOVE IT! I also recently got my wisdom teeth out which wasn’t very fun, to say the least.
Grant has been busy with work and he is also playing on a softball and baseball team. What a busy boy!!
Hopefully I can get better at this whole blogging thing cause I tend to forget things when I don’t write them down. Lol!
